Del Bosque to surpass Kubala

Vicente del Bosque will tonight become the Spain head Coach to have overseen most games with the national team.

Del Bosque takes his team into the first of a World Cup qualifying double header against Finland at El Molinon this evening, for what will be his 69th game in charge of La Roja.

Currently level with Ladislao Kubala on 68 games, Del Bosque has overseen 57 wins, five draws and six defeats during his four-and-a-half-year stint in charge so far.

Tonight’s game will also see Sergio Ramos become the youngest player in the history of European football to reach 100 caps for his country, when he lines up aged 26 and 358 days, surpassing Lukas Podolski’s achievement reached when aged 27 and 13 days.

Ramos will also become only the eighth Spanish international to reach a century of caps. Only the USA with 12 and Mexico with nine have more centurions in their history.
