Mourinho: No agreement to leave

Jose Mourinho has rubbished suggestions that he has an agreement signed to leave Real Madrid, and he has also accused FIFA of voting irregularities.

The Coach has on more than one occasion this season been reported in Spain as having come to an agreement with President Florentino Perez to leave the club in the summer.

However, in talking to Portuguese outlet RTP this week, the 50-year-old has suggested otherwise.

“I have no agreement with Real Madrid to go. I have signed nothing, that’s a nonsense,” affirmed Mourinho this week, before reflecting on other aspects of discussion that have surrounded his time at Madrid.

“This Real Madrid team are as good as the others that I have had.

“The criticism? Nothing affects me, nothing bothers me. I do not go crazy nor do I get depressed. Nothing motivates me more than my own motivation.”

Mourinho was nominated for the 2012 FIFA Ballon d’Or Coach of the Year award, but he did not attend the gala.

“I don't regret not attending the gala at all. One, two or three people phoned me to tell me that they had voted for me and later, when the list of votes was published, another name appeared by their votes. That was why I decided not to go to the gala.

“I’m accusing FIFA of irregularities in the vote for best manager in the world. There was a lack of transparency.”

“FIFA was aware of these irregularities, knowing they were there, but did nothing to avoid them.”

FIFA have since denied these claims.

Mourinho was asked of his achievements in light of his nationality.

“Being Portuguese has nothing to do with what I have achieved. Here in Spain it is difficult to be Portuguese.

“You can be the best Coach in the world at any given time, but you have no career. My path is long and I have accumulated successes.

“There are people in Portugal who dream of being a Coach. They wanted to be players 20 years ago and now they want to be Coaches. There is a ‘Jose Mourinho effect’ on young people.

“My future? I am not training outside of Spain, England, Italy or France.

“If I wasn’t a Coach then I would be a teacher. I’m a good husband, a good son, a good friend, a good father.

“For my son’s birthday I was not at home, we had a game in Granada. There are moments that are lost.”
