‘We’ve the knife between our teeth’

Massimo Ambrosini has recalled last year’s Champions League near-collapse for Milan, but assures that they are determined for Tuesday at Barcelona.

Last year the Rossoneri saw a 4-0 first leg win the Champions League Last 16 almost overturned in the second leg by Arsenal.

Heading into Tuesday’s second leg of the same stage of the competition this time with a 2-0 lead over Barcelona, captain Ambrosini has reflected on the risk of complacency once more.

“We have so much to lose and so much to gain,” commented Ambrosini to reporters.

“There is much to lose because we are in a good position, but in my opinion there is the same chance of progressing.

“We have a strong result going into this, but it also has less danger. Last year we won 4-0 against Arsenal and were about to lose the second leg.

“In football, everything is possible, you can play a great a game and score many goals. We have players with a lot of experience in Serie A, and it's only right we pass on that knowledge.

“Barcelona will take hold of this game, but our main weapon is the counter-attack.

“We have the knife between our teeth and are ready for any situation.”
