Espanyol captain Cristian Alvarez is set to join Real Betis over the summer, reports in Spain have suggested this afternoon.
Diario de Sevilla have claimed that the 27-year-old goalkeeper will make the move at the end of the season after contract negotiations between the Argentina-born shot-stopper and the Periquitos broke down.
Alvarez has lost his place in the team since Javier Aguirre's arrival thanks to a hamstring injury, but Pepe Mel will look to bring him to Andalusia in a deal worth around €3m.
