Veteran goalkeeper Ricardo Lopez Felipe has rejoined Osasuna until the end of the season, at the age of 41.
The former Manchester United shot-stopper was thought to have ended his playing career after leaving the Pamplona outfit at the end of last season, after seven years at the club.
However, Osasuna announced overnight that the goalkeeper, who was otherwise continuing his coaching qualifications, has agreed a new six-month contract to tie him to the club until the end of the season.
The club were expected to make a move in the January transfer window for short-term cover between the posts after second-choice Asier Riesgo’s injury blow suffered last week.
The 29-year-old broke his foot in training last Sunday and has been confirmed as out of action for between ‘two and three months’.
