Stevanovic triggers Sevilla exits?

Miroslav Stevanovic has flown into Seville this week to complete a €1.2m transfer to Sevilla, as speculation now grows of potential sales.

The 22-year-old Bosnian international, who was previously thought on his way to Germany this January, was reported earlier this week as a target for Sevilla.

A fee of around €1.2m is now widely accepted as the amount to have been agreed, whilst the right-sided creative winger, who is known for his pace, was confirmed on Tuesday by Sevilla as on the verge of completing the move.

Stevanovic is confirmed by the club as now only needing to complete a medical examination on Wednesday before presentation to the media as the team’s first January signing on Thursday.

However, his transfer is seen in the local media as a surprise, both for the club’s financial position going into the market and for his preferred position being that of Jesus Navas’.

Speculation is that after Stevanovic’s arrival, the club will begin the process of selling players to help balance the books after a difficult year economically, which yielded more than €15m in losses.

El Diario de Sevilla are speculating that Stevanovic’s signing is a clear signal that Navas is considered by the club to be on his way out, whilst it is also believed that he will be followed by Alvaro Negredo.
