Atletico Madrid striker Radamel Falcao has commended the club’s President for keeping hold of him despite intense interest.
The Colombian – who has netted 17 La Liga goals this term – was speaking from his homeland, where he received a citizenship merit badge for cooperation with police advertising campaigns.
“I recognise the great effort Enrique Cerezo has made for me to stay at the club,” he said. “And thank goodness our sporting results have been positive. We expect that to remain so until the end of the season.”
