Mourinho on Casillas, Barca & sacking

Jose Mourinho has claimed that he does not fear for his job following Real Madrid's 3-2 loss to Malaga on Saturday evening.

Los Blancos were downed by the Andalusian side at La Rosaleda to leave them 16 points behind Barcelona at the top of La Liga.

But the Portuguese Coach has hit out at questions that he could be sacked and also revealed the reason behind leaving captain Iker Casillas on the bench.

“I do not fear for my job,” he told a Press conference. “This is football. Everyone knows that people have short memories in this game.

“The players tried here and they tried against Espanyol, but we have no luck.

“The players feel sad and empty in the dressing room. Our motivation now is not to make up the distance to Barcelona, but to take personal pride in what it means to play for Madrid.

“This season the distance [to Barcelona] is insurmountable. But we have to take responsibility for our own performances.

“[Leaving Casillas out] was purely a technical decision. I analysed the situation and chose the team.

“You can try and invent whatever you want, but it was a purely technical decision.”
