Chivas part company with Cruyff

Johan Cruyff has left his advisory role at Mexican side Chivas after just nine months working with the club.

Chivas’ President Jorge Vergara released a statement on the final day of the Mexican season thanking the Dutchman for ‘the support and collaboration provided’ by Cruyff, in his capacity this year as an advisor.

Vergara explained that the objectives set out upon the Dutchman’s arrival have not been achieved and that his tenure will officially come to a close 30 days from now.

Chivas, who finished eighth in the latest League campaign, also confirmed that no other staffing changes will take place, with the Coach John Van ‘t Schip and his staff keeping their positions.
