‘Serious’ Mallorca vs ‘Cheerful’ Rayo

Real Mallorca boss Joaquin Caparros says his side must be ‘serious and compelling’ against ‘cheerful and eager’ Rayo Vallecano.

Mallorca haven’t won since week five but will close to within a point of Rayo if they win at the Campo de Vallecas tomorrow.

“We have to play a good match in all aspects in Vallecas,” Caparros told journalists. “Because they are strong at home, with a passionate support and a team that is cheerful and eager to please.”

The former Athletic Bilbao trainer revealed that defenders Jose Nunes and Antonio Lopez are back from long term injuries but may not play in Madrid, and admitted his team are in ‘dire need of points.’

“There are fifteen evenly matched teams in La Liga, so our obligation is to add as many points as possible and not be a conformist.”

Paco Jemez’s Rayo have only lost twice at home this season, against Real Madrid and Barcelona.
