Barcelona have lost another defender to injury this season, with Marc Bartra picking up a hamstring strain.
The club have confirmed that the young defender is set to miss up to three weeks with the strain in his right leg, meaning he could be unavailable for as many as six of his side’s next fixtures.
The 20-year-old centre-back made his first official appearance of the season in late October’s home win over Celtic and has since managed a further six appearances in all competitions, the latest of which came from the bench in Saturday’s 3-1 win over Real Zaragoza.
Barca’s back-line has been plagued by injury this term, with yesterday’s game the first that Carles Puyol and Gerard Pique were able to start together since late August due to their respective struggles with fitness.
