Masoud Shojaei has undergone successful surgery on a broken metatarsal in Germany today, Osasuna's official website has reported.
The Iranian midfielder has been plagued by injuries since he joined the Basque club in 2008, having had six previous operations to fix the loose bone in his left foot.
The team's chief medical officer Patxi Ciprian is optimistic that this could be the end of his injury worriesthough.
“Today's operation has gone smoothly and without complications,” he told osasuna.es.
The 28-year-old will return to Spain on Sunday, and is expected to be out for a further three months.
