Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois considers Diego Simeone on a par with Pep Guardiola and Jose Mourinho.
Courtois is one of the cornerstones of an Atleti side that have won the Europa League and European Super Cup under Simeone and were on a 13 game winning streak until last Saturday.
And the Belgian shot-stopper believes El Cholo has no less nous than Real Madrid Coach Mourinho or former Barcelona boss Guardiola.
“Simeone is on the same level as Mourinho or Guardiola,” he told Argentine publication Ole. “He has had great results with Atletico, winning the Super Cup, and that makes him one of the best Coaches in the world.
“With his arrival we're enjoying great seasons, in Europe, where we have 16 consecutive victories, and in the League, where all is well.
“That is the responsibility of the Coach. Before we earned little and now we win a lot. He is a person who knows a lot about football, is very intelligent, and has good assistants. We like to train with him.”
Simeone and Courtois are next in action when the Rojiblancos face Academica in the Europa League tomorrow.
