Osasuna boss Jose Luis Mendilibar criticised his Osasuna players in the wake of the 1-0 Copa del Rey first leg defeat at Sporting Gijon.
The Pamplona side went down to Sangoy’s 15th minute strike at El Molinon and Mendilibar blamed his team’s lack of hunger as the principal reason for the defeat.
“I prefer to see the glass half full but it’s not the result I would have liked,” he told gathered media.
“Our main problem is that we are paying dearly for our mistakes and in this game we made one and conceded a goal, but we are just not hungry to score goals.
“We are also failing to take our chances, but Masoud’s return to the side is going to help us as he had a good game,” added Mendilibar.
