Caparros praises former club Sevilla

Real Mallorca boss Joaquin Caparros has praised Monday’s opponents Sevilla as ‘a great club with a great squad and a great Coach’.

The 57-year-old spent five years in charge at the Sanchez Pizjuan between 2000 and 2005 and was born in Utrera, located just 30 kilometres outside the Andalusian capital, but is still looking forward to putting one over his old club.

“It will be a very difficult game but we are aiming to end our run of two successive defeats [to Getafe and Granada].”

“Sevilla are a great club with a great squad, very experienced, and are coached by a great tactician [Michel] who I hope will on the bench for many years to come because that would be a good sign,” he told a Press conference.

Caparros was also asked about Giovani dos Santos, yet to make his Mallorca debut following an injury, and new loan signing from Barcelona, Andreu Fontas, who are both included in Los Bermellones’ squad.

“Dos Santos is coming back from serious injury and although he has recovered and has been working hard we will see how the game goes.

“Regarding Fontas, he has done a lot of training with Barca and we have signed him because we need him,” said Caparros.
