Osasuna hold Betis in stalemate

Osasuna managed to get only their fifth point of the season as they held Real Betis to a goal-less draw at Estadio El Sadar.

With the home side rooted to the bottom of the League, it came as no great shock to fans when the Verdiblancos started the better of the two teams.

Ruben Castro had the visitors one up within 15 minutes, but his banana shot from the edge of the area was ruled out for offside.

Jose Luis Mendilibar's men slowly asserted themselves on the game though, and perhaps could have taken the lead just before the break, only for Roland Lamah to fire over the bar from inside the area.

After the interval, neither team managed to stamp their mark on the match, and struggled to create any clear goalscoring opportunities.

Lamah was continuing to cause trouble down the right-hand side with his darting runs, but time again, the final ball was lacking in quality.

Pepe Mel’s men looked slightly more dangerous after the introduction of Joel Campbell late on, but couldn’t break the deadlock as the match ended 0-0.
