Iniesta: Title race still open

Andres Iniesta believes that the title race is not between just two clubs or just for Barcelona this year, and he also reflects on life after Pep Guardiola.

Barcelona have won six out of six in the League so far to not only match a club record start to a campaign, but also stretch an eight-point lead over Real Madrid.

However, in talking to Gol TV today, Iniesta was quick to make clear that the title race is not as conclusive as it currently appears.

“To win in every field is difficult,” he replied. “Let’s see when everyone has begun, how we all do, how things turn out, the end is most important when fighting for the title and we are fighting over the course of the season.

“It seems that winning everything is normal, it seems easy, but it’s very difficult. The challenge is to want to excel, to want to keep winning championships is a great challenge and one that we are all proud to experience.”

Iniesta was also asked about how things have been without Guardiola as Coach.

“We will miss Pep Guardiola. With him we reached the top and we also enjoyed it. I think that is paramount.

“We enjoyed doing what we did in every training session, every game, we learned a lot and we will miss him in that sense.”
