Sevilla favourites return for charity match

A Sevilla select were beaten 7-4 by the 'Champions for Africa' in a charity game at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan last night.

The match, organised by UNICEF and the Kanoute Foundation – a charity ran by former Sevilla player Frederic Kanoute – was played in order to raise funds to aid children living in the Malian capital Bamako.

The Sevilla side featured current Rojiblancos players and also teammates of Kanoute from the UEFA Cup winning glory years, including Andreas Hinkel, Diego Capel and Ivica Dragutinovic.

Kanoute himself played 14 minutes before being substituted by Diego Perotti.

The Champions for Africa were composed of players from various Primera and Segunda Division sides, including Getafe's Dani Guiza, Granada's Iriney and Deportivo La Coruna's Carlos Marchena.
