Calderon worried for Madrid

Former Real Madrid President Ramon Calderon admits he is worried after the team’s disappointing start to the 2012-13 La Liga season.

Jose Mourinho’s men have taken just four points from a possible 12 and Calderon admits he is very concerned about the situation at the Santiago Bernabeu.

“Without a doubt I’m very worried about what is happening. It’s not the ideal start although we must not make a drama out of it,” he told RAC1.

“There are still a lot of games left and there will be a lot of twists and turns, but it seems there has been some relaxation.

“The squad is the same as last season, with some top-class players, so the coaches will need to explain the reasons for this.”

Calderon also commented on Jose Mourinho’s declarations that he blamed his players for the 1-0 defeat at Sevilla over the weekend and he did not have a team.

“Mourinho’s words do not help anyone or resolve things and any player could rightly claim right now that he did not have a Coach.

“It would be better to think that this was just a blip but I imagine the players did not like what Mourinho had to say.

“The team looks committed on the pitch and they won’t like it that he says it is everybody else’s fault or they lack concentration.

“The best thing would be to simply say that we lost and to congratulate our opponents.
“One way of winning is to always show that you know how to lose,” he added.
