Atleti victory bitter for Mario

Atletico Madrid midfielder Mario Suarez said the 4-3 victory over Rayo Vallecano left a bitter taste in his mouth.

Mario, scorer of one of Atleti’s four goals, saw his team almost throw away a four-goal advantage in the last 10 minutes as their cross-city rivals nearly pulled off an astonishing comeback.

“We scored four but it was a shame we let them get three and it has left a bitter taste in my mouth.

“However, the most important thing is that we won and we’ll need to continue playing the same way to get even more victories.

“We are happy to have won and with the way we played but we’ll have to try and make sure we don’t commit the same mistakes again,” he told a Press conference.

On a personal level Mario declared himself satisfied with his own display and believes right now he is at the top of his game.

“I feel good, my goal helped the team and I thank the Coach for showing confidence in me.

“I’m dedicated to improving every day and that’s what I’m doing,” he added.
