Ronaldo: Focus on winning, not contracts

Disgruntled Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo has released a statement pledging his allegiance to the club.

The Spanish press has been full of frenzied speculation regarding the 27-year-old's future ever since he confessed to feeling 'sad' in the wake of Los Blancos 3-0 victory over Granada a week and a half ago.

The player is reportedly unhappy that he has not been offered a new deal, and by a perceived lack of support from the club in his bid to win major individual awards.

However Ronaldo has now taken to his official Facebook page to set the record straight.

“I would like to reaffirm, without worrying about contracts, that my focus is solely on winning every game and every trophy available with the essential company of my teammates and all Madridistas,” read the online post.

And the Portuguese winger proved that commitment with actions as well as words, returning to training at Valdebebas before any of the other players that had been on international duty.
