Cerezo unconcerned over Falcao

Enrique Cerezo has played down comments by Radamel Falcao’s father that his son ‘dreamt of playing for Real Madrid’.

The Atletico Madrid President insisted Radamel Garcia’s claims to Colombian radio station El gran debate de Todelar were unimportant.

“I don’t give any importance to them. While the person it concerns, who is the player, says there is no interest then there is no problem,” Cerezo told Cadena Ser’s El Larguero programme.

“A father can speak of his children when he sees fit because he has lived with them through their infancy and youth, but Falcao has explained clearly that he is happy and content with Atletico and he is here for four years.

“We are having a fantastic time, a happy time. We have a fantastic team and a brilliant Coach so I don’t understand how this can be destabilised with statements from Falcao’s father.

“Let’s relax. Falcao is going nowhere,” he added.

However, 24 hours later the player’s father was unrepentant regarding his remarks.

“It is not a sin to say my son wants to play for Real Madrid. We’ll see later which team gets him,” he declared to Colombia’s Antena 2 channel.
