Paris Saint-Germain sporting director Leonardo has denied links between the French side and a late bid for Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Portuguese has been paired in some publications with a departure late in the transfer market, with France and Russia possible destinations, as their windows for buying players have yet to close.

However, Leonardo, who this summer has brought in the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Ezequiel Lavezzi, has stated that they are not planning a move for the 27-year-old.

“We have never thought about it. We are very pleased with what we have achieved in the transfer market this summer,” he told RAC1 today.

“When Paris Saint-Germain wants a player, we talk directly to the club that have their rights and this has not been the case.

“PSG has not spoken with anyone from Real Madrid.”
