There are gathering rumours that Real Madrid are attempting to bring Chelsea midfielder Michael Essien in on loan.
The Ghanaian was absent from The Blue’s 4-1 UEFA Super Cup defeat tonight against Atletico Madrid and has otherwise been linked with a move to Arsenal on deadline day.
However, the player’s former Coach Jose Mourinho, who signed Essien for Chelsea in 2005 from Lyon, is reportedly pushing for a late move for the midfielder.
Real are understood to be negotiating for an initial season long loan deal for the 29-year-old.
