Athletic Bilbao have reached an agreement with UstaritzAldekoaotalora to rescind his contract, which expires in June 2013.
Ustaritz, 29, was the only player left at the club who had been omitted from boss Marcelo Bielsa’s squad at the start of the season, with Galder Cerrajeria having moved to Real Oviedo and David Lopez also having his contract rescinded.
Central defender Ustaritz is a product of Athletic’s youth academy and made his first-team debut during the 2004-05 season.
Since then he has gone on to make 103 official appearances for the Basques – 85 in La Liga, 12 in the Copa del Rey, four in European competition and two in the Supercopa de Espana – scoring one solitary goal in a 4-1 away win over Almeria in November 2009.
Last season Ustaritz went out on a season-long loan to Real Betis, where he made eight starts – seven in La Liga and one in the Copa del Rey.
