Real Madrid begin the Champions League at home to Manchester City, whilst Barcelona welcome Unai Emery back to Spain on Matchday One.
The draw for the group stages of the competition was held earlier today, handing Los Blancos the trickiest looking selection.
Jose Mourinho’s men now know the fixture schedule and they will begin their quest to reach the final at home to Roberto Mancini’s City, before travelling to Ajax and then facing two matches in a row with Borussia Dortmund.
Barca, meanwhile, will host former Valencia Coach Emery’s new team Spartak Moscow in the first week of the competition proper, before then journeying to Benfica and then facing Celtic.
Valencia are the only Spanish side to start and end the group stage away from home as Matchday One sees them travel to last year’s runners-up Bayern Munich and Matchday Six sends them to France and to Lille.
Malaga, competing in the competition for the first time, begin and end their Group C campaign in front of their home crowd, whilst they face a double header in the middle against Milan.
