Sevilla ace heads back to Argentina

Sevilla have announced they have given Argentine playmaker Lautaro Acosta permission by to find a club back in his native country.

The 24-year-old has been a huge disappointment at the Sanchez Pizjuan since his €7m signing from Lanus in July 2008, mainly due to a succession of injuries, and made just 23 La Liga appearances for Los Rojiblanos, starting seven times.

Acosta spent last term on loan with strugglers Racing Santander although he is believed to have had several offers as he looks to get his career back on track.

With one year left on his agreement at Sevilla he will now study the different proposals, most of which have come from clubs in Argentina, and travelled to the South American country on Tuesday to try and tie up a deal.

Acosta was part of the Argentina team that won the gold medal at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, beating Nigeria in the final, and was a member of the Sevilla squad that won the 2010 Copa del Rey with victory over Atletico Madrid.
