Javier Aguirre claimed that 'the only difference was the goal' as his Espanyol side lost to Granada, whilst Lucas Alcaraz called his team ‘effective’.
The Periquitos' faint European dreams took a dent on Sunday as Nolito scored the only goal of the game to take El Grana out of the relegation places.
And the Mexican Coach has insisted that his team did not deserve to lose.
“The fans are going home disappointed,” he told a Press conference. “The day was not a good one.
“We failed to open them up defensively. Initially we looked comfortable on the ball, but over time we started to use the long ball more.
“We had a few chances, but the difference is they scored.
“We have to continue though. We have five more games.”
The Grana Coach meanwhile claimed that his players did well under pressure.
“The difference between us and Espanyol has been the goal,” he told a Press conference.
“We were playing with a lot of pressure today – knowing that a negative result would damage us.
“But my team were effective.”
