Real Madrid 2 - 1 Barcelona

Aitor Karanka praised the work-rate if his players after they defeated Barcelona, whilst Jordi Roura admitted he was pleased even after the loss.

Goals from Karim Benzema and Sergio Ramos were enough to give Los Blancos the three points at Santiago Bernabeu.

And the 39-year-old has insisted that they now go into their Champions League clash with Manchester United full of confidence.

“This win makes us stronger,” he told a Press conference. “I am happy with the performance of all the players – which is needed in these types of matches.

“We started with some players that don't normally start, and you have to be pleased with how they played.

“We have confirmed what we already knew – we can rely on all of the players in this squad.

“The past five days have made us happy, but now we have to train hard and prepare for the match against Manchester United.”

The Blaugrana Coach meanwhile has claimed that his men did well in tough circumstances.

“It was a very complicated match,” he told a Press conference. “It is always difficult here. The team worked hard and we had our chances.

“This is the League. We came here with a 16-point advantage and we wanted to extend that.

“But we have to be pleased with the team's attitude. It's obvious though, that the result is what counts.

“We tried to always have control of the match and I think we did that throughout most of the game.”
