Marcelo Bielsa admitted that his side’s 1-0 win was an 'absolute must', whilst Jose Luis Mendilibar thought his men deserved more from the game.
A second half Markel Susaeta strike was enough to give Los Leones the three points that takes them up to 15th in the table.
And the Argentine Coach has conceded that the victory gives them confidence going into the home straight of the campaign.
“Those three points were an absolute must for us,” he told a Press conference. “From a footballing point of view there are some things we have to look at.
“But in terms of confidence and mental strength this win was essential.
“It was a difficult match – a balanced one. But we did just enough.”
The 51-year-old Rojillos boss meanwhile insisted that his men merited more from the match.
“That's football,” he told reporters. “Sometimes you do not merit the win, and you get it.
“Today we did much more than them, and yet have come away with nothing.
“My team continued to create chances even after going a goal down, so I can't really ask for more.
“I have to congratulate my team for what they've done today. I few continue like this, we'll be okay.”
