Philippe Montanier praised his players after they defeated Athletic Bilbao 3-1, whilst Marcelo Bielsa defended his position as Los Leones Coach.
The Erreala came from behind to beat their Basque rivals at San Mames last night, and the French Coach has claimed that his team showed a 'cool head' after coming from behind to win.
“We knew that the start of the match was going to be difficult because Athletic normally start well,” he told a Press conference.
“Once they scored, we dug in and showed a cool head. We fought right until the end and were confident enough to believe in our style of play.
“We remained calm, and the players have to be respected for that.”
The Argentine tactician meanwhile, has admitted that he was disappointed with the defeat, but has claimed that he can overcome these difficulties.
“I do not like to boast about my own strengths, but I know what is happening and I can deal with it completely,” he told a Press conference.
“I have been in this job for 30 years, so nothing here is new. I've been through this sort of thing countless times before.
“I have nothing to say about the game. I've said all I have to say many times this season. We played well in the first half and then just stopped in the second.”
