Javier Aguirre admitted that a draw was a fair result as Manolo Jimenez was left with mixed feelings after the final whistle.
The Periquitos drew 0-0 at La Romareda with the Blanquillos, and the Mexican Coach has conceded that neither team deserved to win.
“Both teams played well,” he told a Press conference. “We neutralized their intensity and made it difficult for them to pass the ball.
“In the end a draw was a fair result because both teams have a clear chance to score.
“I have to demand more from my players, but today was very difficult because neither side wanted to make a mistake.”
Both teams had a man sent off late in the second half, but Jimenez conceded that he was fairly pleased with the point.
“The team have played badly,” he told a Press conference. “But I don't think the draw was bad.
“It brings us closer to our aim, so we will have to settle for it.
“Espanyol are a direct rival, so to keep a clean sheet and almost win the game in the second half is quite pleasing.”
