Juan Antonio Anquela conceded that he was proud of his players, and Jose Luis Mendilibar claimed his team were well beaten.
Goals from Diego Mainz and Daniel Benitez either side of half-time gave El Grana the three points at El Sadar.
And the 55-year-old has admitted that his side were worthy winners.
“We deserved to win,” he told a Press conference. “The first half was very good and we had some incredible opportunities.
“We scored two goals and that's just reward for the effort we've put in.
“I'm proud to have these players.
“All I want is for Granada to win. I just try to do the best job that I can.”
Mendilibar meanwhile was forthright after the final whistle.
“We lost on merit,” he told a Press conference. “They deserved to win because they were better than us.
“I do not know if our early goal made us think we were going to win, but we took a step back once we'd scored.
“They were better than us, stronger than us.”
