Aitor Karanka claimed that 'Jose Mourinho never hides' after the Coach failed to turn up for his Press conference, whilst Diego Simeone lamented his side's poor finishing.
Los Blancos' boss didn't turn up for his post-match meeting with reporters, after the Santiago Bernabeu side had beaten Atletico Madrid 2-0 on Saturday.
But his No. 2 has hit out, claiming that the former Inter man 'always shows his face' after he had become a scapegoat for some fans earlier this week.
“The important thing is that the team won and Mourinho has shown his face,” he told the Press. “It was a controlled performance from the team.
“We knew that they have players of quality and could get a draw against us, but the team did well.
“Mourinho is a Coach who gives everything for his team and never hides.”
Simeone meanwhile, admitted his side lacked a spark going forward.
“In the first half both teams were fairly quiet,” he told a Press conference. “There were no real goalscoring chances, but they managed to score with a free kick and we could not.
“In the second half it was really more of the same – we could not grow offensively and that lead to us losing the game.
“Until the goal, I think my team did well – we just could not move forward in attack. There were very few chances.
“The difference was that they took theirs and we didn't.”
