Paco Jemez has admitted that he was proud of his side despite defeat, whilst Jose Luis Mendilibar was believed the visiting team were the best he’d faced.
Kike Sola bagged the winner inside five minutes for the Rojillos, but the Vallecanos Coach has conceded that it was just one mistake that cost his team at least a point.
“The team played a spectacular match,” he told a Press conference. “There was a small mistake and it's cost us dearly.
“But I'm very happy with the way we played. It was a complete performance from my team and I think we were probably the better side.
“Osasuna played as we expected – a physical, high pressure game. They were intense throughout and were very hard to play against.
“Having said that, I think we deserved a lot more from the game.”
Mendilibar meanwhile, conceded that the Franjirrojos put them through their toughest test so far in the campaign.
“It was a complicated game,” he told a Press conference. “It was the hardest match we've had so far. Rayo were the best team we've played.
“We had that little bit of luck, that they just lacked. We have won a match that we probably didn't really merit.”
