Mauricio Pochettino was insisting he'd remain whilst Luis Garcia Plaza was banning talk of Europe after Espanyol fell to a 2-0 defeat at home to Getafe.
Pochettino was already under huge pressure with Espanyol bottom of the League but this result has exacerbated matters, furious fans aiming chants at the Argentine.
“I don’t have the cowardice to run away,” he hit back. “But looking at our position in the table the fans cries against me are justified.”
“Every time we’ve talked about Europe we’ve messed up,” said a happy but cautious Garcia Plaza. “So right now we’re fighting for nothing, to earn points in the classification and nothing more."
