Juan Antonio Anquela was delighted with his side, whilst Diego Simeone saw it as a game of two halves.
A second half Arda Turan strike was enough to give Los Colchoneros the three points, but the 55-year-old was clearly pleased with his men after the final whistle.
“I have watched a lot of Atletico Madrid games this season,” he told the club's official website. “And very few teams have caused them as many problems as we did today.
“I can only applaud my team because they were incredible.
“I am happy with the intensity and the desire of my boys, but to go into the dressing room and see them with their heads down is very sad.
“In football there is no such thing as justice.”
Simeone meanwhile praised the opponents, but thought his side were deserved winners for the second half performance.
“We knew what was going to happen in the first half,” he told a Press conference. “But we could not control them.
“Granada played a great first 45, with aggression, intensity and chances.
“In the second period we understood what we had to do. Koke and Arda Turan were the players of real quality, and they got us out of trouble.”
