Atletico Madrid, Arsenal want Juventus defender Merih Demiral

Atletico Madrid and Arsenal are both in the running to sign out-of-favour Juventus defender Merih Demiral, report Calciomercato.

Demiral has played just one competitive match for Juve since arriving from Sassuolo over the summer, despite injuries to Giorgio Chiellini and Matthijs de Ligt.

The Turkey international is reportedly valued around €35m and could be on the move in January with the Italian champions seemingly open to a sale.

Demiral has featured in only the Serie a win over Hellas Verona this campaign but is said to be highly valued by a number of Europe’s leading clubs after impressive form for Sassuolo and Turkey in recent times.

Indeed, the Bianconeri parted with a cool €18m to land the central defender this summer with Demiral previously being on the books at Sporting CP and featuring in Turkey for Alanyaspor.

The defender has won ten caps for his national side including all eight qualification matches for this summer’s European Championships.
