Bayern Munich negotiate for Barcelona’s Philippe Coutinho

Bayern Munich are negotiating a loan deal with an option to buy for Barcelona playmaker Philippe Coutinho, report RAC1.

The Brazil international has cut a frustrated figure for the Catalan club, finding starting opportunities limited at the club and struggling to find consistent form.

The Brazilian only joined the Camp Nou in January 2018 for a deal worth up to €160m but it now appears the Blaugrana are willing to cut their losses on the player.

In July, Coutinho told reporters: “I have a contract with Barcelona, it was always my will to succeed in this club, but now I am totally concentrated here (with Brazil) and about the future (with Barca) we do not know what will happen.

“Many things that come out in the media are simply not true but as for my future we do not know what is going to happen, that is the truth.

“It's clear that the arrival of big names is always good for a squad that wants to win.”

Paris Saint-Germain are said to be an admirer of the former Inter and Liverpool man but again their financial situation is precarious and may need to make sales before considering big-money moves – Neymar would need to leave before his Brazil teammate is considered.
