Lucas Silva set for Real Madrid exit

Lucas Silva is set to leave Real Madrid permanently this summer, after four years out on loan from the Santiago Bernabeu.

According to media outlet UOL Esporte, in his native Brazil, the club are happy to release the 26-year old attacker, despite still have a year left on his contract with Los Blancos.

Silva has the last three seasons on loan at former club Cruzeiro, following a season-long loan at Ligue 1 side Marseille, after a single season as a bit part player under Carlo Ancelotti in 2014-15.

There are reportedly a number of clubs interested in bringing Silva in on a free transfer, in Europe and South America, with Atalanta, Benfica, Espanyol, Sevilla, Tigres and Club America amongst the sides mentioned.

The former Brazilian U23 international was signed by Ancelotti in January 2015, in an estimated €14m deal after catching the eye with Cruzeiro – however his career in Spain never took off, with just eight La Liga appearances in five seasons.
