West Ham striker Lucas Perez to join Alaves

West Ham striker Lucas Perez is poised to return to Spain and join Alaves in a €2.3m deal, according to reports.

The 30-year-old started just four Premier League games for the Hammers this campaign and has failed to settle since his €4.4m switch from Arsenal last summer.

Perez joined Arsenal for £20m in the summer of 2016 from Deportivo La Coruna and went on to score seven goals in 21 appearances in his debut campaign but fell out of favour thereafter.

The former Spain international earned the move to England after netting 17 La Liga goals in the 2015/16 campaign for Depor but has failed to find that form since.

He returned to the Galician outfit on a season-long loan deal in 2017/18 but found the net just eight times across 35 top-flight appearances and was unable to prevent the club’s relegation to the second tier.

Marca cite a report in The Sun that there is ‘total agreement’ between all parties for the move, while in a separate development the East London club want Alaves defender Guillermo Maripan.
