Mauro Icardi to stay at Inter Milan

Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi has moved to end rumours linking him with Real Madrid, by pledging his loyalty to the Serie A side.

The Argentina international has been heavily linked with a move away from Italy, after a difficult 18 months with the Nerazzurri, however he has put an end to speculation by stating his commitment to Luciano Spalletti's side.

The former Sampdoria man was linked with moves to Zinedine Zidane's side, as well as Premier League side Manchester United and Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich.

"In response to incorrect media reports linking me with an exit from Inter Milan, he posted on his Instagram account.

"This does not reflect my thoughts, as I have repeatedly told the club that I want to stay, and I want fans to know that.

"I hope this will end any more misunderstandings, I have told Inter my feelings.

"Inter Milan are my family."

Icardi has endured a low key season in 2018-19, with just 16 goals in all competitions, his lowest return for a season since the 2015-16 campaign.
