Argentina boss Lionel Scaloni discharged from hospital

Argentina boss Lionel Scaloni has been discharged from hospital in Spain following a traffic accident on Tuesday morning, report Spanish media.

Diario de Mallorca reported the Coach was in a ‘grave condition’ after being hit by a car while cycling, although El Mundo Deportivo subsequently reported his condition as ‘between mild and moderate’.

The 40-year-old was riding his bicycle in the Balearic Islands at 10am on Tuesday morning when the incident occurred.

The former wing-back is most famed in Spanish football for an eight-year stint at Deportivo La Coruna, when he won the Spanish league title, along with stints at Racing Santander and Real Mallorca.

Cadena Cope now say he has been fully discharged from hospital after being assessed for brain trauma.

Scaloni was appointed as the Argentina national team boss following last year’s World Cup, when Jorge Sampaoli was dismissed when his side exited at the Round of 16.
