Jesus Vallejo hopeful on Real Madrid stay

Real Madrid defender Jesus Vallejo is hopeful of remaining at Real Madrid despite a lack of game-time, report ESPN FC.

The 22-year-old has played just twice this season and not at all in La Liga, with youth graduate Javi Sanchez preferred even with the club’s injury crisis.

Earlier this month, Spanish TV station La Sexta claimed Vallejo had no intention of staying at Madrid beyond the current season, with a €50m deal already in place for Eder Militao from FC Porto.

However, this fresh report denies these claims and adds that the central defender remains 'delighted' at the club with no intention of departing.

The former Spain international is said to have left Madrid’s training pitch ‘in tears’ after an injury setback in January, which ruled him out of contention for Copa del Rey games at that time.

Vallejo was brought into the first-team squad at Madrid last season and has made a total of 14 appearances following a previous loan stints at Real Zaragoza and Eintracht Frankfurt.
