Barcelona open to Philippe Coutinho summer sale

Barcelona are prepared to sell Philippe Coutinho this summer should a club meet his €130m valuation, report Diario Sport.

The report claims Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United are all interested in the Brazilian international, who has failed to nail down a regular spot in the first-team at the Camp Nou.

Earlier this month, Marca carried the news on its front page while ESPN FC also reported Blaugrana sources as confirming the club as being open to a sale.

The Brazilian has cut a frustrated figure for the Catalan club this season, finding starting opportunities limited at the club and struggling to find consistent form.

Coutinho, who moved to the Nou Camp from Liverpool in January 2018 for an initial €120m fee, has not established himself as a consistent starter under Coach Ernesto Valverde – with just 34 La Liga starts in 15 months.

“Barcelona do not have a firm offer from any club at this point, but some have expressed an interest in the player,” ESPN FC reported a club source as telling them in March.

“Key people, who are either directly or indirectly linked with various clubs have been following the situation closely.”

Coutinho has ten goals and five assists this season, being linked with a move back to England with Manchester United and Chelsea most prominent among his suitors.

The player was recently booed by sections of Barca’s support in their 3-1 home win over Rayo Vallecano.
