Jesus Vallejo seeks Real Madrid exit

Real Madrid defender Jesus Vallejo has decided to leave Real Madrid this summer as the club looks set for a first-team squad overhaul, say reports.

The 22-year-old has played just twice this season and not at all in La Liga, with youth graduate Javi Sanchez preferred even with the club’s injury crisis.

ESPN FC cite a report from Spanish TV station La Sexta that Vallejo has no intention of staying at Madrid beyond the current season, with a deal already in place for Eder Militao from FC Porto.

The former Spain international is said to have left Madrid’s training pitch ‘in tears’ after an injury setback in January, which ruled him out of contention for Copa del Rey games at that time.

Vallejo was brought into the first-team squad at Madrid last season and has made a total of 14 appearances following a previous loan stints at Real Zaragoza and Eintracht Frankfurt.
