Marcelino gives Valencia players five day break

Valencia manager Marcelino has given his players a five day break over the international period, as they prepare for a demanding end to the season.

With 10 La Liga games remaining in the 2018-19 campaign, as well as a two legged Europa League tie against local rivals Villarreal and a Copa del Rey final against Barcelona, he has opted to grant an extra rest period to his players players.

The 53 year-old stated that he wanted his players to 'disconnect' for a few days they prepare for the challenge ahead, as well as pushing for a top four La Liga finish for the second season in a row.

However not all members of the first team squad will benefit from the break with 13 players called up for international duty over the next week, including Jose Gaya, Rodrigo Moreno and Dani Parejo for Spain.

Midfielders Ferran Torres and Carlos Soler have been called up for La Roja's U19 and U21 squads respectively.
