Sevilla considering future of boss Pablo Machin

Sevilla Coach Pablo Machin faces a fight for his future at the club following Saturday’s 2-1 defeat at Huesca, according to a report in Marca.

The Andalusian club have collected just one point from their last five La Liga games and have just one win from their last ten, as the pressure is cranked up on their boss.

The team are still in the race for a Champions League spot but have slipped to sixth in the table and are now five points behind fourth-placed Getafe.

A major concern is the club’s away form – they have lost five successive matches away from home and are without a win in their last ten matches on the road.

The only bright spot in their campaign is their continuation in the Europa League – they eliminated Lazio in the Round of 32 and now face a tie against Slavia Prague.

Marca say that tie, alongside next week’s meeting against Real Sociedad in La Liga, will prove pivotal in the Coach’s future at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan.

Director of Football Joaquin Caparros may decide to search for a replacement should Machin not obtain positive results, with suggestions that he himself may step temporarily into the role again.
