Jordi Alba signs long-term Barcelona contract

Defender Jordi Alba has signed a long-term contract extension at Barcelona to keep him at the club until 2024, it has been confirmed.

Alba’s contract at the Camp Nou has entered its final 18 months, despite the Spaniard being Barca’s first-choice left-back and in fine form, providing ten assists this season.

However, he has now penned a deal will keep him at the Blaugrana until he’s 35 with his release clause being elevated from €150m to €500m.

Juventus and Manchester United were said to be among the clubs interested in a possible move for the Spain international.

Alba has played more than 250 matches for Barca after his 2012 move from Valencia with his previous renewal penned in 2015.
