Monaco to move for Atletico Madrid’s Nikola Kalinic

Monaco are hopeful of concluding the signing of Atletico Madrid striker Nikola Kalinic this month, according to reports.

The Croatian was a €15m arrival from Milan last summer but has just two goals in five La Liga starts this season, despite an injury to Diego Costa.

It appears to be a second season of frustration for the 31-year-old after an underwhelming stint at the Rossoneri, who signed him for €29m in 2017 from Fiorentina.

Kalinic scored 27 times across two seasons with La Viola but his career has stagnated since with a lack of regular first-team football.

France Football now reports Monaco are hopeful of a loan deal with an option to buy for the striker.
